Lilac festivals are organized every year in May in Rochester ny. About 400 varieties of Lilac are presented in the festival and near about 10,000 people come on the festival. Despite the reputation as a metropolitan city, Rochester NY has always promoted the local culture. About twenty miles southwest of Rochester, there is a Genesee Country Village and Museum. The best thing about this village is that it preserves the local architecture and other old traditions like carriage museums.
